Ackadamiks ROCK!
Alyssa had her letters & patches out today that are going to go on her new letterman's jacket. I suggested that she take a picture of each of them before we dropped them off at the embroidery shop that had her jacket.
So, she is taking pictures w/ each of them, when all of a sudden she says, "WOW! I'll bet that person felt stupid!" - and shows me her Skyline ACADEMICS (mind you) letter - there is the big red "S" w/ the word "Academics" upside down & backwards through the center of it! I looked at her very serious face & suggested that she might TURN IT AROUND, as it was UPSIDE DOWN!!!! Of all the ones.... the 'smarty pants' one.

Yep, sweetie - "Wow! I'll bet THAT person DID feel stupid!" :) I then suggested that we have them put it on her jacket that way to remember this day & see if anyone else ever catches it! :)
Yeah... she didn't let me.

Plunge, Plunge Ye Saints!
I just asked Lily to call the older girls to dinner on the intercom - so, she starts singing "Come, come, come, come..." So, I suggested, "Why don't you sing 'Come, Come Ye Saints - no toil, nor labor fear'?"
Lily then began singing her heart out:
"Come, come ye saints! No toilet labels here! WHAT Mom?????" And she just looked at me SO perplexed! I could not stop laughing!
Now that she has gotten all the laughs with that, she is now singing, "Plunge, Plunge Ye Saints! No toilet labels here!" And the girls have now added on the next verse, "The toilet's plugged, I fear! Let's all be calm - get off your rear!"

Monday's Funnies w/ Brock & Lily
After staring at himself in the bathroom mirror for TOO long - Jim's son...)
Brock: Mom! I have chunky ears!
Me: What!?
Brock: I have CHUNKY EARS! (he turns & shows me...)
Brock: I am not sure ... am I one of Santa's Elves?!
Then, for FHE we had a pizza party tonight & the kids & I watched about 2 hours straight of our favorite TV show - Ghost Whisperer... What better way to help us feel the HOLY Ghost?! :)
One was a little freaky, so I asked Lily - "Are you okay watching this?"
Lily: I LOVE this!
Me: Love what?
Lily: Fweaky shows like this! I LOVE them!
Me: Why do you love scary stuff? (Her favorite movie since she was 2: The Mummy)
Lily: Because I am a Halloween baby!
Great............. I've got to keep my eyes on this one!

Faux Snow Day
Well, you know those moments of motherhood when you walk in on something that is SO infuriating & a crazy-child-psycho-snap-in-judgement moment - you don't even THINK about grabbing the camera? Then, you relive it as you share the moment of drama with someone else, the first thing they ask you is, "Did you take a picture?!" It is then that you realize that you missed a major memory in the making! Well... this was THAT moment...
Brock & Lily had been quiet for WAY too long... So, I went upstairs to the only bedroom that had the door closed (NEVER a good sign).... I hear crazy, high pitched giggling (also RARELY a good sign).... I fling the door open to see my two sweet children having a self-proclaimed SNOW DAY - INSIDE my house!
Erika's lap desk had a small hole in the bottom padding & was leaking out those evil, static filled white, foamish beads.... so the two mischief makers saw an opportunity & jumped on it (literally). Filling Lily & Erika's bedroom w/ flying, static filled "snow"! They 'helped' the hole get bigger, dumped the entire 6.5 tons (thereabout) of fake snow on the floor & were covering toys in the fake snow - covering each other in the fake snow - tossing it up, so it 'snows' on them.... All while wearing snow hats & mittens!
This is what my whole house vac looked like when I was HALF way through.... then, I had to vacuum the garage & outside around the trash cans where I dumped it. I am sure the neighbors were thinking I was a major OCD clean freak. It was such a mess!
When I walked back in the house from vacuuming the outside of my property & more mad than a wet hen.... this is what I saw hung on the bannister & it actually made me chuckle:
Needless to say, that was about a month ago.... I am STILL vaccuuming up those evil little beads! This time, wishing I would have just grabbed the camera first......

Make-up Lessons w/ Lily Kate
LESSON 1: Blue eyeshadow looks good on: NO ONE - EVER, really.

LESSON 2: The improper use of eyeliner & how the wrong contour colors can actually make your eyes look smaller.... :)
Similar in contrast to the TV addage: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas....
What happens on the playground, goes to the hospital... small orbital fracture & a concussion.

Mommy Hieroglyphics Challenge
So, I was on a conference call with Jim & Alyssa & a volleyball scout, when Lily kept coming up to our glass office doors & would immediately get waved away by the 3 of us. Finally, she came up with the following note, carefully written on a napkin - see if you can figure it out!
(This is like trying to figure out personalized license plates on the freeway - but more skillful!)
Got any good guesses? I'll solve the phonetic hieroglyph for you shortly....
God Bless the Kindergarten teachers of America! :)
